Summary:

Lead ergonomic program activities for existing production process improvement and new production process development. Consult with medical professionals and production engineers regarding work hardening programs and reducing work related ergonomic injuries.

Responsibilities:
Lead ergonomics program, articulate ergonomics vision, integrate ergonomics with existing engineering and safety functions.
Create opportunities for team member participation in the ergonomics solution process.
Develop and implement a method to evaluate and document ergonomic risk factors of job tasks.
Conduct risk assessments of all production jobs within Stamping, Body, Paint, Assembly shops and other off-line and sequencing areas as requested.
Provide guidance and direction to production engineers, group leaders, assistant manager and manager to create and define corrective actions to perceived safety and ergonomic issues. Work with shop leadership to implement and sustain counter measures.
Analyze trends regarding risk factors, symptom data and injury experience.
Make recommendations to prioritize countermeasure implementation.
Participate in new process installation and equipment modification minimizing ergonomic risk factors.
Develop and deliver ergonomics training Investigate ergonomic injury cases and write opinions regarding work relatedness of those cases in support of Workers compensation case management.
Assist leaders/managers with restricted team member job placement and rotation schemes.
Conduct periodic inspections of plant machinery, equipment and working conditions to ensure conformance to appropriate ergonomic, safety and health standards and OSHA regulations.
Investigate incidents and working conditions, compiling data, providing remedial actions and recommendations to achieve loss prevention.

Education/Requirements/Skills:

BS degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or related field
2 years relevant ergonomics experience
Successful implementation of an ergonomics program with any manufacturer or component manufacturer.
Proficient MS Office Suite
Certified ergonomics technician or professional (CET/CEP)
Associate or Certified Safety professional (ASP/CSP)
Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
