Job Description

Roles- The General Purchasing Specialist is responsible for reviewing purchase requistions from departments and deciding whether to approve or reject. The incumbent also identifies cost saving opportunities, process improvements, and negotiates contractual agreements.

Responsibilities-
  • Analyze and establish contract requirements with the facility and project suppliers
  • Identify potential suppliers and procure materials on time
  • Develop purchasing procedures to meet internal customer requirement
  • Assist staff and vendors with ordering and purchasing procedures, available funds, etc. For the purpose of providing information and facilitationg purchasing process
  • Contact vendors to verify information and/or respond to inquiries
  • Distributes purchase orders, vendor information, outstanding order logs, etc. For the purpose of providing reference documents for completing the purchasing process
  • Evaluate purchase requisitions and back up documents for the purpose of snsuring proper use of company funds in the acquisition of supplies, equipment and/or services
  • Maintain documents, files, and records to provide up-to-date references and audit trails for compliance
  • Asses supplier's quotations and proposals and process bids, incoming purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and e-mails
  • Research contracts, suppliers, equipment, laws, and regulations in order to recommend purchases and contracts
  • Develop and enforce policies relative to the purchasing activity of the company
  • Comply with and promote safety in the workplace
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Experience: 0-3 Years
  • Degree Field: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)
