Team Relations Specialist



Summary of Position:



Team Relations Specialist manages the company’ s relationship with its employees. They oversee this relationship from the hiring process of current employees to the exit process. In order to manage employee relations, they participate in recruitment and hiring, communicating Human Resources policies, conducing exit interviews and ultimately analyzing employee data and make recommendations to management accordingly. Team Relations Specialists work in conjunction with and support the Human Resources department. They serve as an advocate for hourly Team Members and Supervisors in conflict resolution

Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing and the new hire process
  • Work with HR Manager and Temporary Agencies on staffing needs, as needed
  • Serves as an advocate, liaison, and trusted advisor for hourly non-exempt Team Members in conflict resolutions and communications
  • Provide expertise, consultation, guidance and coaching to leaders to assist in addressing employee behavior and performance concerns; provide guidance and assistance with the development and delivery of feedback or corrective/disciplinary actions in a consistent and appropriate manner
  • Maintains consistent, regular presence on the work floor and promotes a positive environment
  • Assist, respond and support policy education, interpretation, changes, and enforcement to ensure fair and consistent team member treatment
  • Conduct HR investigations in a confidential, ethical, and consistent manner to include: gathering and analyzing facts, interviewing involved parties, applying relevant laws, policies and past practice to reach conclusions, and make recommendation to management
  • Provides timely investigation summaries to HR Manager
  • Assist EHS Specialist with all safety related activities including, but not limited to OSHA compliance, training, enforcement, investigations, and documentation
  • Oversee the tracking absence report forms for corrective actions
  • Assists with internal company communication, including communication boards, TVs, and email notices
  • Facilitate positive team member activities, including team member involvement and recognition/reward programs
  • Assist with the employee termination process
  • Ensures compliance of state and federal laws as well as company policy
  • Create company badges and badge access
  • Distribute team wear
  • Plans, coordinates, and manages company sponsored events
  • Maintains highly confidential employee information and documents
  • Conduct training for HR, ER and line management on employee relations topics
  • Collaborate with and support other members of HR team
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory and employment law changes and the potential impact of these changes or current and future compliance requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience/Skills Required:
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Human Resources; an emphasis in Employee Relations preferred
  • Experience within an automotive production or manufacturing facility preferred
  • Maintains knowledge of state and federal labor laws, and current HR practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical/problem solving abilities
  • Strong consultative, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to be collaborative, build relationships and influencing skills
  • Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skill
  • Strong personal alignment with internal ethics, integrity and deep respect for confidentiality
  • Education: *
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred, or combination of education and /or experience
